There are many things that come together to create good food photography: your photography skills, good use of the light, some cooking knowledge. But one of the most important skill is one that is often overlooked: your food styling skills can make or break an image.
When I arrived in D.C.with my husband in 2012, I had no idea what I was going to do. The plan was for me to go back to “school” and for my husband to find a job that could sustain us both. But as I was trying to figure out what to go back to […]
2018 started off pretty low. I was barely making ends meet, and the little bit I was bringing combined with my husband’s salary was just enough to get us through the month, which is a little bit scary when you have a 18 month old to feed. We had decided a few months before that […]

If you’re an Instagram addict like me, you’ve definitely noticed the abundance of amazing flat lays coming from some of your favorite bloggers, influencers, and brands. A good flat lay is carefully constructed and pieced together with purpose, yet it effortlessly tells a stylish story. So what are their secrets and how do they do […]
I truly believe that editing is as much a part of a photographer’s style as his styling and composition, and this is the reason why I never give out my raw files. What I didn’t know was that I was using about 40% of the Lightroom capabilities and that I was creating good work, instead of putting out great work.
Today, the world produces 300 million tons of new plastic very year. Less than 10% is recycled. Plastic bags, water bottles, to go containers, takeaway cups and straws are the main source of single use plastic and can be easily replaced by reusable products. Check out my favorite!

One of my favorite thing to do when I travel abroad, is to walk into a magazine stand and to check out the selection of food related magazines. Of course, when I happen to travel to France, it doesn’t stop here, and I end up buying half of the magazines in the cooking section… This […]
Living and working in Thailand for 8 years as a scuba-diving instructor and dive-shop manager (soooo many things you don’t know about me…), I learned one thing: what we eat and do over here has a huge impact over there. In 8 years, I saw the impact of over fishing, climate change (yes, it is […]
Getting kids to eat their veggies is never easy. Maybe you got lucky and your little angels love their greens but I can tell you that mine is not a fan. As a family who values fresh ingredients, clean eating and vegetarian cooking, I had to get creative to figure out how to make sure […]
I used to love a good burger. Before I gave up meat. I didn’t give up because I didn’t like the taste or because it made me sick. My decision was entirely based on ethical and health related reasons. Now, I really love my veggies and I am super happy with a huge salad (And […]
I love getting to work with unique clients who truly make a difference in the world and Dog Tag Bakery is certainly one of them! One of my past clients, Betsy Eves, from Javacupcake (you can read their client highlight post here), reached out to me last year for a photo shoot and from that […]
Happy April Friends! It’s slowly warming up here in D.C. and I’m itching to celebrate soon with a spring-time brunch. When I lived in France, I felt like it was much easier just to pop into a friends house unannounced and whip up some brunch; in the states, we’re all very spread out and scheduled […]
I love breakfast. It is my favorite meal of the day. And I am not afraid to have breakfast for dinner. Croissants, baguette loaded with butter and jam or cheese (did I mention I was French?), a tub of coffee, and I am in heaven. Unfortunately, if you are like me and you are {slightly} […]
As my business is growing, I realize that my favorite thing to shoot is food. I always knew I loved to eat it, but it never occurred to me that I could make money shooting it. It all started with an exchange of cupcakes in a random Starbucks, with a strange lady I met online. […]
Avocado is one of my favorite vegetable… I mean fruit… I mean… Oh who cares, it’s my favorite. And as my favorite, it is ALWAYS on my shopping list. The problem is, sometimes I have quite a few left in my fridge from the previous week’s shopping. Solution: easy made-in-5-minutes-guacamole. You will need: Ingredients: – […]
Too often photographers reside in their own little bubbles. They have their influences, their favorite photographers, the blogs they regularly venture out of their comfort zones. There’s nothing wrong with sticking with what you know, but it’s worthwhile to sometimes take stock of what you’re feeding your brain. Looking to other sources for inspiration on […]
As the winter seem to start lingering and I count the days until summer, I find myself longing for bright colorful food. Thank goodness there are beets! I use this ultra simple beet soup recipe to beat the winter blah: Ingredients: – 1 red onion – 3 large beets – 1 cup of red lentils […]
Deciding to shift from graphic designer to pursue a career as a professional photographer full time was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. It was an easy decision, but the process of getting there wasn’t easy. Photography requires a lot of passion to keep at it — you have to show up everyday and practice […]
I don’t know you but I think butternut squash is one of the best fall / winter veggie (anything that starts with ‘butter’ can only be awesome, right?). And yet, I really don’t cook it very often. Two reasons: one it is a massive pain to peel and chop, and two, it is pretty big […]
