In this guide, I show you how to choose who to pitch, how to find the right contact information, and how to craft a winning pitch.
I am a food + product photographer & educator specializing in eco-friendly and sustainable brands. When I am not working with clients, I empower creatives to start their journey by sharing my knowledge on the business of food + product photography.
I love getting to work with unique clients who truly make a difference in the world and Dog Tag Bakery is certainly one of them!
One of my past clients, Betsy Eves, from Javacupcake (you can read their client highlight post here), reached out to me last year for a photo shoot and from that experience, I was introduced to Dog Tag Bakery! A few months ago, their team contacted me because they are starting a catering department and needed some new images for the website. I was more than happy to help!
Dog Tag Bakery a non-profit is located in Georgetown, D.C. It is an incredible company founded by Connie Milstein and Fr. Rick Curry, SJ and currently run by CEO Meghan Oglivie. The bakery runs a Dog Tag Fellowship program each year. Their mission is to allow service-disabled veterans, military spouses, and caregivers to discover personal and professional fulfillment in the civilian world. The fellowship is a five-month long program offered at Georgetown University and real life work-experience at Dog Tag Bakery. Upon completion of the program, fellows are ready to enter the work force and live a full civilian life.
In honor of May, which is Military Awareness Month, Dog Tag Bakery launched a limited-edition Dog Tag Bakery Brownie in over 8,000 Starbucks stores starting on May 1, 2018 until June 4, 2018. I had the lucky opportunity to photograph these brownies for the Bakery’s campaign. Proceeds from the brownie sales benefit Dog Tag Bakery’s fellowship program.
I hope that you pick up a Dog Tag Brownie from Starbucks this month and support their incredible mission! Thank you to Connie and Meghan for letting me be a part of the Dog Tag Bakery community.
